D’you know, it took me three or four attempts to get the ears right.
I think he looks a little less wonky in his picture. Maybe he just looks quizzical. I’ve never been very good at stitching faces on toys.
I’m quite pleased with Alexandre. For my first attempt, not bad, I think.
Yay – I’ve worked out how to read a crochet pattern.
The only reason I’m starting with the Alexandre pattern is because I’m using blue yarn. Might be using slightly too big a hook but never mind.
Now to work on the head, ears and tail…
Now that Christmas has been and gone, it’s time to look over the spoils and gather our strength for 2017.
It was a busy time, Christmas. I was busy with my brightly coloured blanket (still not finished) and I keep having to get more yarn for it. So in between times, I started another blanket. A smaller one, it’s true, with wool I’ve had for longer than I care to remember, destined for a baby due shortly.
I’m very pleased with how it turned out, especially since there was a certain amount of using up wool involved. Gives me hope for my blanket… Except I was given a copy of Edward’s Menagerie for Christmas so I have lots of new patterns to try. Once I’ve worked out how to read patterns…
