Cheese Puffs

The simplest of simple recipes! This is a happy little recipe for those avoiding added sugar, or those who just happen to like cheese!

And this is going to feel very much like one of Delia’s “How to Cheat at Cooking” recipes.

Because all you need is an amount of puff pastry (I used half a block – the other half was being pie-topping!) and your preferred cheese, grated. I used grana padano, a parmesan-style cheese from Lidl, ready-grated because I’m lazy like that.

So, all you do is this:

Preheat your oven to 220C (200C fan).

Roll out your pastry to a sensible size (about 1cm thick) and cover half with grated cheese. Fold the other half over and roll out again. Repeat several times (probably until your oven is about ready).

Chop into squares and pop on a baking tray. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Try not to eat them all at once!

These didn’t last until the pie was baked…
